Five members of family killed by relative over property dispute in Ayodhya

Ayodhya: Greed for property led to killing of five people by their own relative in Inayatnagar area of the district on late Saturday.

SSP Shailesh Pandey said here on Sunday that a nephew killed the family of his maternal uncle by slitting their throat. The deceased were his uncle, aunt, and three minor cousins in Khanpur Majre village in Inayatnagar police station area.

The accused Pawan was on run after the crime, the SSP said. The deceased were identified as Rakesh Kahar, his wife Jyoti, and their three sons aged 4, 6, and 8 years.

The accused was the neighbor of the deceased and ancestral property was the bone of contention. DM Anij Kumar Jha assured that the culprit would be nabbed soon.
