Ukhrul: Filling of nomination papers to the 12th Manipur State Assembly Election 2022 for 43-Phungyar( ST) A/C, 44-Ukhrul(ST) A/C & 45-Chingai(ST) A/C was closed at 03:00pm of February 11, 2022, as per the guidelines given by Election Commission of India(ECI).
All together 12 candidates filed their nomination papers for the three assembly constituencies of Ukhrul & Kamjong districts. 45- Chingai(ST) A/C has four nomination papers i.e. sitting MLA Khashim Vashum – NPF, Preshow MK Shimray – BJP, Ningam Chamroy – NPP and Sword Vashum – INC. For 44-Ukhrul(ST) A/C has three nominations i.e. Somatai Shaiza – BJP, Ramnganing Muivah – NPF & sitting MLA Alfred S Kanngam Arthur – INC. Five nomination papers were filed for 43-Phungyar (ST) A/C including Awung Shimray Hopingson – BJP, sitting MLA and HAC Chairman Leishiyo Keishing – NPF, Victor Keishing – INC, Wungnaoshang Kasar – JD(U) and Ninghor JaJo – Shiv Sena.
Scrutiny for the three assembly constituencies is scheduled on February 14, 2022. Last date of withdrawal of candidature will be on February 16, 2022 and election will be held on March 5, 2022.
