Kangpokpi: The training program for the first batch of female polling personnel commenced from Wednesday on the third day of the training session at the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council Office (SH-ADC) in Kangpokpi District Headquarters.
A total of 163 female polling personnel attended the training programme which is a significant step towards promoting gender equality and empowering women to take on important roles in the democratic process.
Altogether 651 female polling personnel will undergo a training programme till March 30. It may be mentioned that the training which was earlier scheduled for March 29, 2024, has been postponed to 30th March, 2024.
Hands on training were efficiently imparted by experienced trainers — S. Plim Reikhenamai (SDO Island and Lhungtin), Lamginlen (SDC, Champhai) and Lunlenmoi Vaiphei (SDC Kangpokpi).
On the other hand, SVEEP activities were conducted at various relief camps in Kangpokpi District today under the supervision of Nodal Officer for SVEEP, James Doujapao Haokip (CEO, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council).
SVEEP stands for Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation, it is a flagship programme of the Election Commission of India to promote voter education and participation in elections.
