Thoubal: As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, the Directorate of Trade, Commerce & Industries, Manipur in association with District Industries Center, Thoubal & Kakching Friday jointly organised One-day Awareness Program on ” Exporter Conclave ” at the Counting Hall of Deputy Commissioner Thoubal.
GM,(DIC) Thoubal &Kakching L.Chittaranjan Singh; OSD(EXIM) Directorate of Trade, Com.&Ind. Manipur, A.Sadananda Singh; District Officer (H&SC), Thoubal O Bijyalaskmi Devi and, President (IMBTU), Manipur W.Nabachandra attended the function as dignitaries.
Speaking at the function, A. Sadananda Singh said such conclave is organised to give awareness to entrepreneurs about the export and import potentials of their products.
O Bijyalaskmi said under one District one product scheme, pineapple has been selected as the product of the District. She said about 250 Metric Tonnes were exported from Manipur in the last fiscal year. There is good scope for the establishment of an industry based on Pineapple.
W.Nabachandra said there are three types of trade: local trade, domestic trade and international trade. He explained to the entrepreneur how to start a trade and encouraged the local entrepreneurs to come up and try to get thorough knowledge about the business.
About 10 entrepreneurs from two Districts displayed their products in the programme.
