Puducherry: AIADMK (East) Secretary A Anbalagan on Monday demanded that all those opposing the single leadership in the party be expelled.
Talking to newspersons here, he said that the AIADMK(East) in the Union Territory is extending full support to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for assuming office as the General Secretary of the party in the General Council meeting to be held in Chennai on July 11.
Anbalagan said those opposing are trying to destroy the AIADMK founded by late M G Ramachandran and safeguarded by late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
The AIADMK leader said 12 public committee members in Karaikal and 23 from AIADMK (East) unit had signed the document accepting the leadership of Palaniswami.
However, of the 21 members from the party west unit here, 10 including the secretary failed to sign the document and they be expelled, he demanded.
Anbalagan also demanded that former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and party leader Vaithilingam who is functioning against the AIADMK, among others, be also expelled from the party.
Earlier, at a meeting in the party headquarters here, the cadres tore off the photograph of Panneerselvam from the posters and banners erected.
