Churachandpur: On the 3rd day of the nomination process, two candidates filed their nominations for the 1st phase of Manipur Legislative Assembly Polls Thursday.
Among the two candidates who filed their nomination Thursday were T. Manga Vaiphei, a former Minister of the Indian National Congress party (57-Henglep AC) and Lallianmang Khaute @ LM Khaute, former DGP Manipur from 58-Churachandpur Assembly Constituency.
Meanwhile, Addl. Chief Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) Vumlunmang chaired Covid-19 vaccination meeting with the district administrations, concerned DLOs and other officers on the status of the on-going vaccination drive at Conference Hall, DC’s Office Thursday.
In the vaccination review meeting, Addl. CS sought cooperation from the DLOs and officers to support Deputy Commissioner Pawan Yadav. “We are here to serve the people, let us not turn them away”, he said.

The meeting decided to assign three medical officers and two supporting staff to help the District Immunization Officer for the smooth functioning and effective implementation of the vaccination campaign.
It also decided to increase the vaccination team to 100. Weekly plans have to be developed and the movement of the vaccination team should be predictable for better access to the vaccination sites.
It is also decided that the SDOs should inform the BLOs to mark vaccination status in the electoral rolls for easy identification of unvaccinated persons. Addl. CS also asked the ZEO to depute 3 staff to help in data management.
RRT Consultant, WHO Dr. Satendr Kumar Verma and VCCM/CCP, UNDP H. Vanlalven Langel, also attended the meeting.
In the afternoon, the District Election Officer/DC Churachandpur Pawan Yadav chaired a meeting of District Nodal Officers and link officers/coordinators today at DC’s Conference Hall, Mini-Secretariat Complex to review election preparedness of the district ahead of the coming Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
