Agartala: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has started preparation for the assembly election to the 60 -members house of Tripura, which is scheduled in February next year.
The commission has already held a workshop with the district electoral officers here last week regarding the latest guidelines and election conduct rules.
As many as 4800 EVMs (Ballot Unit) and 4900 Control Unit and VVPAT Machines have been stored at the central warehouse on Monday, which was sent to ECI from ECIL Hyderabad for Tripura Assembly Election 2023, said the additional chief electoral officer Use Jen Mog.
These voting materials were allocated for Tripura reaching Agartala in 15 containerized trucks on Sunday evening and on Monday they were deposited in the warehouse in the presence of officials of the concerned department and representatives of political parties, he added.
