Chandel: The hearing process under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Electoral Roll for 41-Chandel (ST) Assembly Constituency is currently under way in Chandel District as part of Phase III of the revision programme notified by the Election Commission.
According to the notified schedule, the draft electoral roll was published on July 5, 2026. The period for filing claims and objections is being observed from July 5 to August 4, 2026. The disposal of claims and objections will continue up to September 2, 2026, while the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on September 6, 2026.
The hearing of claims and objections is presently being conducted at the Multipurpose Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Campus, Chandel, under the supervision of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Md. Firoz Khan, to ensure that the revision process is carried out smoothly and under the prescribed guidelines.
The revision exercise is being conducted as a participatory process involving electors, election officials and recognised political parties. Recognised political parties have also been requested to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for every polling station to assist in the revision process and to ensure transparency, accuracy and wider public participation in the preparation of the electoral roll.
