Itanagar: Duda Sora, head teacher of Govt Upper Primary School, APP Complex, Aalo East, West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh was among the nation’s best 44 teachers who were conferred with the National Awards for Teachers 2021 on the occasion of Teachers’ Day on Sunday.
The teachers were honoured with the National Awards by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind in a virtual award ceremony.
“As a Head Teacher in an Upper Primary School, Duda Sora has led improvement and change in his school by his own example. Working in a remote area, in difficult circumstances and (with) little resources, he has steadfastly built and maintained the school infrastructure in an exemplary manner. He has also added amenities like water supply, smart classrooms, white boards etc to make the school and its pedagogical practices interesting to the students.
With a special focus on good health and hygiene habits, with himself as an example, he inspires his students with good values and helps them in building a strong foundation for their lives ahead,” the Department of School Education and Literacy, Govt of India tweeted.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu conveyed his hearty congratulations to Duda Sora on being conferred with the National Award.
Taking to his Twitter handle, Khandu wrote “Your commendable service to improve the learning environment in the school is praiseworthy. My hearty congratulations Shri Duda Sora Ji on being conferred with ‘National Awards to Teachers, 2021. Thank you @EduMinOfIndia for honouring the efforts of the teacher.”
The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Govt of India also congratulated Sora on being conferred with the National Award to Teachers 2021. “You’re a great inspiration to the entire Teachers Community. Keep Up The Good Work,” the DoNER Ministry tweeted.
