Drug worth Rs 5 crore seized in Manipur border

Assam Rifles officials on Saturday said a vehicle moving from Sita village towards Bongmol village was stopped and searched.

Imphal: Manipur Police and Assam Rifles personnel seized drugs worth Rs 5 cr in the border area of Bongmol village, Tengnoupal District on Friday.  

Assam Rifles officials on Saturday said a vehicle moving from Sita village towards Bongmol village was stopped and searched.

Suspected banned WIY tablets weighing 11.755 kgs in ten yellow plastic bundles well concealed in the oil tank of the vehicle were recovered.

The drug peddler along with the seized narcotics were handed over to Machi Police Station for further investigation.
