Drug peddler’s “Illegal” Rs 1.32 crore property forfeited by Odisha STF

Bhubaneswar: Illegally property worth Rs.1.32 crores was acquired by accused drug peddler Sk. Jamsed here out of his illegal contraband brown sugar business was forfeited by the Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police, sources said on Sunday.

The seizure of property in the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) case is under the provision of chapter V A of the NDPS Act (Section A- Z).

STF sources said on February 20 contraband brown sugar weighing 1. 227 kg, one Pulser M/c, and other incriminating materials were seized from Sk Jamsed, a habitual drug trafficker having links with interstate and inter-district gangs.

The financial investigation was conducted in which illegal property worth Rs.1.32 crores acquired by the accused has been identified and seized.
A detailed proposal for confirmation of seizure/forfeiture of the properties earned out of illegal drugs business was sent to the office of Competent Authority and Administrator of NDPS Act, Kolkata, as per provision of Sec.68 (F) NDPS Act, 1985.

The Competent Authority, Kolkata under NDPS Act passed the order for forfeiture of huge amounts of property.

STF sources said the seized property includes one three-storied building and plots. The property was purchased out of ill-gotten money from drug trafficking within the last six years in Jamshed’s name as well as in the name of his mother Anima Bibi.

The noted drug peddler was also involved in three cases under various police stations.
