Hyderabad: A car driver, decamped with Rs 55 lakh, belonging to his employer on September 25, has been arrested in Ooty along with his friend Vijayan.
The police recovered Rs 50 lakh from the errant driver Srinivas.
It may be recalled that Santosh Reddy, a city realtor living in the Jubilee Hills area of the city had asked Srinivas to hand over Rs.55 lakh to another realtor living in the Kothapet area of the city.
The driver left with the cash in the car at 1400 hours on that day but when Srinivas did not reach Kothapet even after 1600 hours, Mr Reddy tried to contact him on his mobile phone but it was switched off.
Mr Reddy got suspicious and informed the police who swung into action and found the car near a dormitory building and alerted all the police stations.
