Guwahati: The All Assam Manipuri Youths’ Association (AAMYA) Wednesday asked the ruling Mizo National Front of Mizoram to withdraw within 3-days of their support for a separate administration for the Kuki-Zo people in Manipur.
If MNF continues to support the separate administration, it will be forced to take some serious moves that will make the “whole state of Mizoram to study its topography seriously like never before,” the association warned in a statement.
While appreciating the humanitarian supply of food from Mizoram to Churachandpur, the AAMYA asked the eastern state to play the role of an effective peace broker rather than a mischievous guardian of Kuki’s instigating bloodshed and chaos.
The advice and support for a separate administration for the Kuki-Zo people in Manipur are not only absurd but also alarming for India. Therefore, the peaceful solution to the Manipur imbroglio lies in the table of Mizoram, it said.
If Mizoram turns a deaf ear to this appeal, the Meiteis-Kuki fight will go on, it said, and further advised the Mizoram CM to exercise his greatest wisdom to end the crisis.
