Churachandpur: The district administration conducted the district-level committee meeting under the Vibrant Village Programme–II (VVP–II) today at the Conference Hall, Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mini Secretariat, Tuibong. The meeting was held under the theme “Revitalizing India’s Border Villages.”
The Deputy Commissioner of the district Krishna Kumar, IAS, chaired the session, while Jameson Hangsing, Project Director, DRDA, facilitated the proceedings. Senior officials from DRDA, PWD, PHED, PMGSY, Health, Education, Social Welfare, MSPDCL, BSNL, NIC, and MSRLM joined the deliberations.
The committee reviewed the Village Action Plans and Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) prepared under WP‑II for Churachandpur district. Krishna Kumar emphasized the importance of coordinated planning and directed departments to refine their proposals to ensure effective implementation of development projects. He urged officials to work collectively to strengthen infrastructure and connectivity in remote border areas.
The Vibrant Villages Programme–II seeks to promote the comprehensive development of strategic villages along India’s international land borders. It focuses on critical infrastructure, improved connectivity, and livelihood opportunities. In Churachandpur district, the programme covers the blocks of Singngat, Sangaikot, Mualnuam, and Suangdoh.
