Delhi sees 17,282 Covid cases in last 24 hrs, positivity rate at 15.92%

The new additions took the national capital's caseload to 7,67,438 and the death toll soared to 11,540.

New Delhi: The national capital on Wednesday witnessed a massive spike of 17,282 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, while 104 people lost their lives in the same period.

The city’s positivity rate has now risen to 15.92 per cent and the fatality rate rose to 1.50 per cent, official data said here.

The new additions took the national capital’s caseload to 7,67,438 and the death toll soared to 11,540.

As many as 73,915 people were tested in the past day while 9,952 were cured and discharged in the past 24 hours.

Currently, there are 24,155 COVID patients under home isolation across the city.

The number of active cases is 50,736 which includes patients under home isolation.

There are 68422 people vaccinated during the past day, taking cumulative beneficiaries taken vaccines to 23,02,752.

The city houses 7598 containment zones at present.
