Imphal: The DC of Kakching district in a notice issued on February 23 has asked people of Kakching district not to indulge in selling and trading wildlife product. Doing so amounts to a violation of the Wildlife (Protection) Act 1972 and is punishable under section 51 of the same act.
The notice was issued in the wake of reports in various districts of the state of people resorting to serious wildlife crime like hunting and killing of wildlife.
