Puducherry: Communist Party of India (Marxist) Puducherry Unit has urged the Union Government to confer full statehood for Puducherry.
A resolution to this effect was adopted at the 23rd state conference of the party which concluded here on Wednesday.
Another resolution, urging the NR Congress-BJP government to provide rain-relief of Rs 5,000 to all sections of the people here, was also adopted in the conference.
The meeting also elected R Rajangam as the party Secretary for another term.
