Imphal: The positivity rate in Manipur came down below five per cent and the recovery rate improved to 97.1% during the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Thursday. During this period, the state recorded only a single death, 116 new positive cases (115 general population and one CAPF) and 140 recoveries, as per an official release from the health department.
The lone person who expired Thursday was from Bishnupur, had co-morbidities and had been vaccinated with both doses. The cumulative death toll now stands at 1,876
Of the 115 persons who tested positive from the general population, 60 are from Imphal West, 33 from Imphal East, five each from Bishnupur and Thoubal, three from Ukhrul, two each from Chandel, Churachandpur, Kakching and Kangpokpi and one each fromKamjong and Pherzawl.
Altogether, 2,682 samples were tested for a much improved positivity rate of 4.3 %
Of the 140 persons were discharged, 55 are from home isolation, 88 from CCCs, 11 from RIMS and eight from JNIMS. The recovery rat in the state now stands at 97.02 %
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state is 1, 21,578 out of which 1, 17,950 have recovered leaving 1,752 active cases.
The total number of doses administered on October 6, 2021, is 9, 278 and the cumulative number of doses administered is 17, 49,356 (1st dose 12,29,107, 2nd dose 5,20,249).
The total numbers of beds available in various hospitals for Covid-19 patients on October 7 is 577 out of which 465 are general beds while 112 are ICU beds.
