Covid: Four more succumb Saturday, cumulative toll in Manipur at 1946

Of the four persons who succumbed to the deadly virus, two are from Imphal East while the other two are from Chandel and Imphal West.

Imphal: Manipur reported four Covid related deaths, 49 new positive cases and 36 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Saturday, as per an official release from the health department.

Of the four persons who succumbed to the deadly virus, two are from Imphal East while the other two are from Chandel and Imphal West. The cumulative death toll with these four deaths now stands at 1946 in Manipur. Of the four who expired Saturday, two had co-morbidities, one had taken the 2nd dose of the Covid vaccine while the other three had not been vaccinated.

31 of the 49 persons who tested positive from the general population are from Imphal West, 13 of them are from Imphal East, two from Bishnupur and one each from Ukhrul, Chandel and noney.

Altogether, 1,767 persons were tested giving a positivity rate of 2.8 %.

Meanwhile, 36 persons recovered and were discharged, one of them from home isolation, 28 from CCCs, five from JNIMS and two from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.79 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 24,432 out of which 1,21,678 have recovered leaving 790 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on November 12, 2021, is 8,343, the cumulative number of doses administered is 20,48,778(1st dose 12,59,533, 2nd dose 7,89,295).
