Covid-19 recoveries exceed single-day infections in Arunachal

The recovery rate stood at 94.09 per cent, overall positivity rate at 5.44 per cent and the death rate is 0.47 per cent.

Itanagar: After a long time, the daily Covid-19 recoveries outnumbered the single-day infections recorded in Arunachal Pradesh as the hilly state saw 348 people getting cured of the disease as against 194 fresh cases, a senior health official said on Thursday.

With the new detections, the Northeastern most state’s tally of confirmed cases mounted to 60,792 while with 348 recoveries the total number of recovered cases increased to 57,199.

The state’s Covid death toll remained at 284 as no fresh fatalities were reported during the period, he said. Of the fresh cases, Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for the highest 114, followed by Papum Pare at 18, Lower Subansiri (10), Lower Dibang Valley (nine), Namasai and Lower Siang (six each), Upper Siang (five) and Tawang, Tirap and West Kameng (four each).

Of the total cases 105 were found to be asymptomatic and 89 were symptomatic, the official said, while adding that the day’s positivity rate was logged at 27.55 per cent which stood at 29.90 percent on Wednesday.

Arunachal Pradesh’s active caseload further swelled to 3,309. The recovery rate stood at 94.09 per cent, overall positivity rate at 5.44 per cent and the death rate is 0.47 per cent.
