COVID-19: Arunachal tally crosses 54k-mark

Itanagar: The tally of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh crossed the 54,000-mark, to be precise at 54,028, as 38 more people have tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours.

Ten of the new cases were reported from Itanagar Capital Complex, nine from Lower Subansiri and five from West Kameng and four from Tawang and East Siang.

Of the total cases, 23 cases turned out to be asymptomatic and 15 symptomatic, said a bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services here.

Meanwhile, 69 COVID patients across the state recovered in the period that took the total number of recoveries to 53,252.

Arunachal Pradesh at present has 505 active cases, which comprised 0.93 per cent of the total infections, while the recovery rate stands at 98.56 per cent, the bulletin said.

Around 271 persons have so far succumbed to the deadly virus.
