COVID-19: Arunachal registers one more death, 56 new cases

The states continued to witness more recoveries than the daily infections as it recorded 67 recoveries and 56 new cases during the last 24 hours.

Itanagar: After a brief hiatus, Arunachal Pradesh has registered one COVID-19 casualty during the last 24 hours that pushed its death toll to 272, besides reporting 50-plus single-day infections.

The victim, a 101-year-old male from Tirap district, who tested positive for the virus on September 16, had died of COVID-19 related complications. He had no comorbidity and was under home isolation, a senior health department official said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the state continued to witness more recoveries than the daily infections as it recorded 67 recoveries and 56 new cases during the last 24 hours.

With the addition of fresh cases, Arunachal’s tally of confirmed cases mounted to 54,126, according to data available with the state Health Services Directorate here.

Of the new infections, Namsai accounted for 10 cases, followed by West Kameng nine, Itanagar Capital Complex seven, and Lohit and Lower Subansiri five each. Thirty-six of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 20 symptomatic.

On the contrary, 67 cases of recuperation came up during the period that reduced the state’s active caseload to 410 and mounted the total recovered cases to 53,444

.

The recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent, while the positivity rate is 0.76 per cent and the death rate 0.50 per cent, the official said.
