COVID-19: Arunachal case tally rises to 55,324

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh’s COVID-19 case tally mounted to 55,324 as one more person has tested for the infection during the past 24 hours, a senior official of the state health department said.

Similarly, an identical number of COVID patients has been discharged post recovery from the disease in the period. With this, the state’s total number of recoveries rose to 55,023, he said, adding that its active caseload to stay put at 21.

The new case was found in Namsai that turned out to be symptomatic. The state had tested 211 samples for COVID-19 in the period that took its cumulative count to 12,03,690.

On the immunization front, Arunachal Pradesh has so far administered 14,53,101 COVID-19 vaccine doses, including 1439 jabs during the last 24 hours, to its adult population since the start of the nationwide inoculation drive in January last.

At least 80 per cent of its eligible citizens have received the first dose of the anti-COVID vaccine, while 64 per cent beneficiaries were administered both doses of the vaccine, according to the State Immunization Officer Dr D Padung.
