Cop injured after firing by colleague at Manipur BJP president’s residence

Imphal: A security personnel belonging to 7^th Manipur Rifles was seriously injured in a fratricidal firing incident at the residence of Sharda Adhikarimayum, president of BJP state unit, on Friday.

The incident occurred at around 10 am.

The victim has been identified as A Bimolchandra Sharma, Naharup and the accused was Thonginthang Baite from Litan. They were members of escorting party of Sharda.

The victim is currently undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity, Imphal. Sharda was not present at her residence at the time of incident.
