Itanagar: After the successful launch of the pilot project ‘Medicine from Sky’ – a drone based medical facilities, the Arunachal Pradesh government is contemplating to use the technology in the fields of agriculture and disaster management.
The ambitious ‘Medicine from Sky’ project is in line with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a drone hub, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said on Friday in a social media post.
The first flight of drone service – ‘Medicine from the Sky’ was virtually launched by the Chief Minister on the occasion of 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, from Seppa to Chayang Tajo in East Kameng district.
“After the successful launch of 1st pilot project from Seppa to Chayang Tajo in East Kameng district, we plan to use drones in agriculture sector and disaster management as well,” Khandu said.
The project has been funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and is being executed by Bengaluru-based startup Redwing Labs.
“We look forward to more successful drone-based projects in 2023,” the Chief Minister said.
