New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi why is he still silent on Manipur situation.
“He is one of the most articulate Prime Ministers who is maintaining a ‘Maun Vrat’ (silence ) on a matter of extreme public importance not to Manipur, not to a state, but to India as a whole,” said Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi attacking the PM while referring to the situation in the Northeastern state.
He further said, “I see no reason why he (Modi) should be avoiding this issue, when he is speaking on every other topic.”
“On matters which maybe not be so important there is occasionally very-very occasionally, unilateral one-way straight dialogue. As far as important issues are concerned, there is only silence,” Singhvi added.
The Congress has been blaming the BJP-led government for the current crisis in Manipur. The grand old party demanded dismissal of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
Earlier, Singhvi also attacked the ruling dispensation for bringing Goods and Services Tax Network under the purview of Prevention of Money Laundering Act said,“Bringing GSTN under the PMLA is a way by the Modi Government to practice, promote and propagate tax terrorism.”
The BJP through the new law shall wreak havoc on the business community in India, he asserted.
“Is this a way of promoting tax terrorism by the Union government?” Singhvi asked.
