Imphal: The Government of Manipur will observe Nupee Lal Numit 2024 on Thursday, 12th December, to honor the heroic sacrifices of the women freedom fighters of the Nupee Lal movement.
Preparations are in full swing for a successful commemoration, which will be held at two locations: the Nupee Lal Memorial Complex and the Central Hall of GP Women’s College, Imphal.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh will attend the event as the Chief Guest, with MLA Irengbam Nalini Devi presiding over the ceremony.
The program will begin at the Nupee Lal Memorial Complex, where the Hon’ble Chief Minister will lead a floral tribute to the departed freedom fighters. This will be followed by events at GP Women’s College Central Hall, featuring an opening song by artists from Shri Shri Bal Mukanda Dev Government Music College, Imphal, speeches by dignitaries, and a Nupee Lal drama performed by the Nupee Lal Memorial Association Drama Party. The event will conclude with a closing song by the same music college artists.
This solemn observance serves as a poignant reminder of the bravery and resilience of the Manipuri women who fought for justice. The public is warmly invited to join in commemorating their legacy.
