Imphal: A team led by SP Imphal East and SP NAB along with the Forest dept, and BSF conducted a poppy destruction drive in NP Khullen, B Gamnom hill range on December 26, 2022.
The combined team destroyed the plantation by cutting and uprooting poppy plants grown in an area of land measuring about 30 acres.
The combined team camped at B Gamnom village but could not proceed further due to bad weather; maximum efforts are underway to arrest the illegal poppy plant growers.
A regular case has been registered at Thoubal Dam P. S for further investigation, said a press note from the4 PRO, Manipur Police.
