Imphal: Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed his deep sadness at the untimely demise of Rev Dr Hawlngam Haokip, General Secretary of Kuki Baptist Convention, Dewlahlane.
In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said Rev. Hawlngam, who was born in 1938 at Khangbarol, Chandel District, obtained his Doctor of Ministry (D. Min.) from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, USA in 1980. During his lifetime, Rev. Hawlngam served many Church bodies in different capacities in the state and abroad.
Stating that Rev Hawlngam used to pray for the betterment of our State and the Government, the Chief Minister said, “his contributions to the society as a Church leader will always be remembered”.
N Biren Singh shared in the grief of the bereaved family and prayed for the Almighty to give them strength to withstand the loss.
