Imphal: Chief Minister N. Biren Singh Wednesday paid a visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence located at Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi. The Chief Minister is currently on a visit to the National Capital.
During his meeting with the Prime Minister, Chief Minister Biren Singh had a detailed discussion on a wide range of subjects including roads and bridges, water resources, drinking water supply, building infrastructure, airport development, livelihoods and law and order, amongst others. The prevailing situation of the COVID-19 pandemic and the state’s efforts in tackling the same were also elaborated by the Chief Minister.
Thanking the Prime Minister for all the assistance and guidance provided by the Central Government in tackling the pandemic, N. Biren highlighted the State’s focus on ensuring timely progress of ongoing works and also sought the assistance of the Centre in meeting developmental gaps. Further, he invited the Prime Minister for laying foundation stones and inaugurate several major projects. The Prime Minister, accepting the invitation, also assured to further extend all possible assistance from the Centre in the State’s developmental efforts and also in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Prime Minister also congratulated N. Biren and the people of Manipur for the excellent performances shown by athletes of the state in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2020 and expressed his hopefulness that Manipur would produce many more winners in the future Olympics and other international events.
