Civil Servants to have more Public centric outlook: CM PS Tamang

Chief Minister has announced that Deputation, Transfer and Promotion policy would be framed.

Gangtok: Chief Minister PS Tamang, unfolding his basket full of gifts for Civil Servants on their Day made a number of announcements. The announcements made on Civil Services Day, hosted by the Department of Personnel, came as a pleasant surprise to all. ‘From next year the best performing Civil Servant will be given Sardar Vallabh Bhai Civil Servants Award, consisting of cash and certificate,’ said Chief Minister PS Tamang, here today.

Considering the Housing issues in the present age, CM announced Housing flats for all the Govt Servants on a payment basis. For improving efficiency CM Tamang has said that the officers would be provided training opportunities within the country and abroad. The District Officers will be trained on legal and criminal procedures. A certain extent of decentralization will be carried out, as a result, the public will be able to obtain documents like Residential Certificates, Purcha and domicile applying Online. The documents will be delivered to home.

One mostly comes across some employees differing on transfer and promotion rules. Chief Minister has announced that Deputation, Transfer and Promotion policy would be framed.

CM also directed the clearing of files in the office with 10 days. As far as Govt expenditure is concerned, Departments have been directed not to spend more than 20% of the budget in March, which is the last month of the Financial year.

National Civil Service Day has been celebrated in the country since 2006.
