CIAL announces winter schedule for the domestic sector

The Airport will see 50 daily domestic departures, including the resumption of daily services to Goa, Trivandrum and Kannur operated by Indigo airlines. The ongoing summer schedule has been handling 456 aircraft movements weekly.

Kochi: Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) has announced a winter schedule for the domestic sector, which will be effective from October 31, 2021, to March 26, 2022.

With this schedule becoming effective, CIAL will facilitate 694 weekly domestic operations which are at par with a pre-pandemic period, CIAL Managing Director Suhas said in a release here on Friday.

The Airport will see 50 daily domestic departures, including the resumption of daily services to Goa, Trivandrum and Kannur operated by Indigo airlines. The ongoing summer schedule has been handling 456 aircraft movements weekly.

Flight to Goa will depart Kochi at 2310 hrs. An ATR flight operated by Indigo from Kannur will land Kochi at 0925 hrs and leave for Trivandrum at 0945 hrs. Indigo will operate another ATR flight in the Trivandrum-Kochi-Kannur sector. This will arrive from Trivandrum at 1825 hrs and leave to Kannur at 1845 hrs.

There will be 14 daily departures to Bangalore. Delhi and Chennai will be connected with 6 daily flights each whereas Hyderabad and Mumbai will be served by 7 daily flights each. The connectivity to cities like Hubli, Kolkata, Mysore and Pune are also enhanced, the release said.

“We are happy about the resumption of domestic services to many cities. It has been a long time demand of the passengers. As per the instruction of Chairman Pinarayi Vijayan and the Board of Directors, CIAL has been trying to improve connectivity in International sectors also.
And we hope that by the end of this year the air traffic movements at Kochi will be back to normal,” Mr Suhas said.

Indigo Airlines will have the highest number of flight operations from Kochi. It will operate 172 weekly services. AirAsia, Air India, and Go Air have also increased the frequency of operations in all sectors, the release added.
