Churachandpur: Polling teams for 23 polling stations dispersed

Officials for 117 polling stations in Tipaimukh, Thanlon, Henglep and Singhat ACs will be dispersed Saturday.

Churachandpur: Polling officials and security personnel detailed for duty in 23 polling stations located at far off places in 55-Tipaimukh and 57-Henglep ACs were dispersed from Peace Ground here Friday. General Observer, District Election Officer Pawan Yadav and SP Churachandpur Shivanand Surve oversaw the dispersal process. 

Officials for 117 polling stations in Tipaimukh, Thanlon, Henglep and Singhat ACs will be dispersed Saturday. 

At the same time Postal Ballot Facilitation Centre was also opened at the dispersal site wherein officials and staff on election duty cast their votes. The centre will be opened on all dispersal days from 9 am to 1 pm. 

Meanwhile, the District Election Officer has issued an order declaring all polling stations as ‘No Smoking and Tobacco Free Zone’ by invoking COTPA, 2003. It also empowers the SPs of Churachandpur and Pherzawl to enforce the order and authorises them to take necessary action against violators.
