Beijing: China on Thursday urged the US not to interfere into Beijing Winter Olympics and “stop playing with fire” on the Taiwan issue.
“The United States should stop interfering with the holding of the Beijing Winter Olympics, stop playing with fire on the Taiwan issue, and stop creating all kinds of anti-China ‘circles’,” Foreign Minister Wang Yi told US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Last month, the US announced that it would not be sending an official delegation to the Winter Olympics due to human rights violations by China. The 2022 Winter Olympics would be held in Beijing from February 4 to 20.Â
