Centre sanctions Rs 35 cr for Tripura under PM Gati Shakti

To ensure uninterrupted power supply in all the industrial estates a power infrastructure is set to be developed by Tripura at a cost of Rs 22 crore, which will help in better industrialization of the state.

Agartala: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has sanctioned Rs 35 crore for Tripura under four PM Gati Shakti projects under schemes for special assistance to states for capital investments for current fiscal for last mile connectivity.

The ministry sanctioned the projects a day ahead of the review meeting of MoRTH Minister Nitin Gadkari with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Friday in Guwahati over road development projects being implemented in the state.

While acknowledging the support of the Central government to Tripura especially, for infrastructure development, the chief minister urged Gadkari to issue directions to the implementing agency NHDCL to speed up work and start work of sanctioned roads and national highways.

The official release here on Saturday said that the Centre has approved a project worth Rs 5 crore that will benefit the industrial infrastructure at the Dewanpassa Industrial estate of North Tripura by improving its road connectivity with the national highways.

The upgradation of this approach road, which will be completed in a year, will improve connectivity in the transportation of raw materials as well as the distribution of finished goods from the state, .

To integrate planning and synchronize implementation of all infrastructure projects through the PM Gati Shakti State Master Plan platform, a PM Gati Shakti Data center has been established in Agartala at the cost of Rs 2 crore aiming to preserve and add all necessary layers to the State Master Plan platform that are required for smooth infrastructure planning.

“The dynamic and transparency across all layers of the State Governance through the PM Gati Shakti State Master Plan will benefit Tripura to become a preferred investment destination,” the release stated.

The third project worth Rs 6 crore will benefit the industrial infrastructure at the Industrial estate of Bodhjungnagar in Agartala by improving road connectivity of the industrial estate to the national highways in the country. This upgradation too, set to be complete in a year, will improve connectivity for transportation of raw materials as well as the distribution of finished goods from the state.

To ensure uninterrupted power supply in all the industrial estates a power infrastructure is set to be developed by Tripura at a cost of Rs 22 crore, which will help in better industrialization of the state.

It will create logistics efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and smoothen the functioning of various logistics components in these estates.

The department of Expenditure issued the “Scheme for Special assistance to states for capital investments” in April this year to encourage investment in Northeast that provided guidelines for financial assistance to state governments of Rs 1 lakh crore in the form of 50-year interest-free loan for capital investments including Rs 5,000 crore for PM Gati Shakti-related projects and investments.
