Imphal: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR against a Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO), at the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Aizawl for possession of alleged disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 72 lakh in Imphal and Aizawl, officials said.
Kaikhohao Doungel, it’s alleged, during the period of January 2014 to May 2021 had acquired huge assets both movable and immovable total amounting to Rs 1,42,71,447, which are inter alia in the form of (a) two homestead lands at Kangpokpi, Manipur, (b) one homestead land at Chalwa village, Kangpokpi, Manipur, (c) one RCC building (G+1) at K Vengnom, Khabam Lamkhai, near IGAR South, Imphal East, (d) another RCC building (G+5) at Tlangnuam Bazar Veng, Aizawl and bank account balances etc, which are disproportionate to his known sources of income to the tune of Rs 72,27,768 (approx).

Earlier on Friday, the sleuths of the Central investigating agency conducted searches at the office premises as well as at the residential premises of the accused at Aizawl and Imphal which led to the recovery of (a) registered land Sale Deed for purchase of the land at Tlangnuam Bazar Veng, Aizawl, (b) seven bank accounts in the name of accused and his wife maintained at various banks, (c) five insurance policies including LIC, luxurious household articles and other incriminating documents, officials further said.
Investigation is still on, they added.
