CBI files case against a CRPF commandant in an alleged possessing of disproportionate assets

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case against a Commandant of CRPF posted in Lucknow on the allegations of possession of disproportionate assets of Rs 5.61 crore (108% of his income).

Searches were conducted at four places including Lucknow, Noida, Mirzapur and Delhi, CBI said in a statement.

During searches, investments in immovable properties in Ranchi, Varanasi, Noida and Yamuna Expressway, worth Rs 4.6 crore, deposit of Rs 1.02 crore, transactions of money worth Rs 6.18 crore in the bank account of accused, family members and companies controlled by them and various documents related to acquisition of movable/immovable assets including jewellery, purchase of shares worth crores were found, it added.
