Ottawa: Two people, including Brothers Keepers gangster Meninder Dhaliwal, were shot dead in Canada’s Whistler Village.

According to Vancouver Sun, at the time of the shooting on Sunday (local time) near the Sundial Hotel in the heart of Whistler Village, the 29-year-old gangster was with a friend named Satindera Gill, who was not involved in the gang.

While Dhaliwal died at the scene, his friend succumbed to his injuries later at a local health center.

Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said that the shooting was linked to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said: “As a result of the dynamic response and rapid evidence collection by officers, Sea-to-Sky RCMP were able to locate and apprehend multiple individuals.

“Though this was a brazen daytime shooting in a busy village, there is not believed to be any further risk to the public, thanks to the quick response of the Sea-to-Sky RCMP members.”

He further said that a burning vehicle was found later in the 3300-block of Ptarmigan Place and it is linked to the murders.

According to New York Post, the popular ski town was put on lockdown after the incident.

Dhaliwal’s brother Harb was killed in Coal Harbour last year.
