BJP demands CBI probe into death of student in Sikkim

Gangtok: The BJP on Saturday demanded a CBI probe into the mysterious death of a student leader Padam Gurung.
Gurung, President, Students Representative Council. died on November 27.
‘We the State BJP members are not satisfied with the report of the one-man inquiry commission set up on Gurung’s death,” said BJP leader Kamal Adhikari.
The report, acquired through RTI, has statements of witnesses attached. Four of them clearly said that “Gurung was hit on the head and fell. A brown vehicle suddenly appeared and took him downwards and not upwards (to hospital,” Adhikari said.
Adhikari said the statement of witnesses that Gurung was hit on the head was ignored. “This does not give justice to the deceased and the parents,” said Adhikari, and appleaded to the state government to seek a CBI probe.
