BJP demands cancellation of Mamata’s nomination for “failing” to disclose pending criminal proceedings against her

Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of failing to disclose particulars about some pending criminal proceedings against her and demanded with the Returning Officer for cancellation of her nomination for Bhawanipur assembly seat by-poll for September 30.

BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal’s chief election agent Sajal Ghosh objected to the nomination filed by the TMC supremo, accusing the chief minister of withholding information regarding some pending criminal proceedings against her in Assam.

The five cases are under various sections at Geetanagar police station, Pan Bazar police station, Jagiroad Police station, North Lakhimpur Sadar police station and Udharbond police station during 2018.

The BJP election agent alleged that the chief minister has not given details about the five cases filed against her in various police stations in Assam.
