Bhola, a close aide of Lalu arrested after CBI raids in land for job scam in Railways

He was arrested on charges of IRCTC and land for job scams in Railways as he had been closely associated with Lalu and his family members for a long.

Patna: Former RJD MLA Bhola Yadav, a close aide of party president Lalu Prasad was arrested on Wednesday after CBI conducted raids at his four locations in connection with IRCTC and land for jobs scam in Railways.

Official sources said that simultaneous raids were conducted by CBI at four locations of Bhola Yadav in Patna and Darbhanga including his ancestral house at Kapchhahi and Bhairopatti locality under Bahadurpur police station area in Darbhanga district of Bihar in the early morning.

Raids were conducted as Bhola, considered close to Lalu who is facing charges of land for jobs and tender scams in Railways during his tenure as Railway Minister from 2004 to 2009. Bhola was summoned by CBI four days back for his interrogation seeking details in this connection.

Bhola was arrested by CBI in New Delhi. He was arrested on charges of IRCTC and land for job scams in Railways as he had been closely associated with Lalu and his family members for a long. Bhola had always been with Lalu when he had surrendered before the CBI special court in Ranchi in connection with a fodder scam or was admitted in Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) and All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in New Delhi for treatment following a deterioration in his condition due to several ailments.

Bhola was elected on an RJD ticket from the Bahadurpur seat in the 2015 Bihar Assembly Elections. He, had, however, lost when contested from Hayaghat seat in 2020 Bihar Assembly elections.

Raids were earlier conducted on two occasions at several locations of RJD chief Lalu Prasad in connection with land for jobs and IRCTC scam during his tenure as Railway Minister. His wife Rabri Devi, former Chief Minister, and son Tejaswi Prasad Yadav, leader of the opposition in Bihar

Assembly has also been made accused by CBI of scams during the tenure of Lalu as Railway Minister.
