New Delhi: Bharat Biotech on Saturday announced the prices for its COVID vaccine Covaxin, just 6 days ahead of the new round of vaccinations for all above 18 years that will kick start from May 1.
The vaccine will be available at a price of Rs 600 per shot to state governments and Rs 1200 to private hospitals, the pharmaceutical major said following directives by the government.
“We would like to state that more than 50 per cent of our capacities have been reserved for Central government supplies,” it said.
Meanwhile, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday requested major private hospitals in Karnataka to reduce the cost of treatment of Covid-19 patients along the lines of BLDEA’s hospital in Vijayapur.
Speaking to media persons here he said, “We request private hospitals to offer treatment for Covid-19 at half the cost. They will get business later if lives are saved now,” Joshi said.
