Kolkata: City’s premier hospital -Belle Vue Clinic – has introduced an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based contactless monitoring gadget called ” Dozee” to detect and record all vital information of a patient without contacting his/her body, which the medics claimed a path-breaking digital technology to enhance patient’s safety, hospital CEO Pradip Tondon announced.

The State-of-Art gadget ” Dozen” is kept underneath the mattress of a patient, which would monitor 24X7 all the parameters of the user and transmit those records to a screen in the boardroom or onto the mobile phones of the treating doctors and nursing staff.

” Dozee’s contactless Ballistocardiography technique is proven to be 98.4 percent as accurate as medical grade devices,’ claimed CTO and co-founder of Dozee – Gaurav Parchani, a Bangalore-based techie, who has been working on the project since 2015.

” Customize alerts according to individual patient needs to have an early advantage during emergencies,

Dozer’s AI technology learns and grows with you converting measured Vitals into readable and accessible reports. With Dozee’s Hi-Tech Security system, You can ensure absolute confidentiality of your medical records and measured reports.

The contactless sensing -Dozee- would read and record heart rate, heart rate variability, respiration rate, bed occupancy, non-contact blood pressure (BETA), sleep, sleep apnea, oxygen saturation, and other vital body information, said Parchani.

” Adopting Dozee enabled us to enhance patient safety by converting its non-ICU beds into Step-down-ICUs,” hospital CEO Pradip Tondon told reporters during a demonstration at the hospital premises on Wednesday.

” So far we have introduced Dozee technology onto 33 beds in addition to another 26 ( Wednesday) since August last and gradually to cover altogether 200 beds,” the first of its kind in eastern India, Tondon explained.

He said the cost of Dozee would have to bear on the patient’s party, maybe between Rs 350 to Rs 400, per bed per day.

“Adopting Dozee’s technology is one of the steps we are taking to foray into the digital age, equipped with adequate tools and resources to further enhance our healthcare delivery. With this technology, we are also hoping to reduce the workload on our healthcare workers who can monitor a patient’s vitals remotely, and prioritize their time depending on specific needs of the patients.” Tondon added.

“We couldn’t be more enthusiastic about bringing Dozee to Belle Vue Clinic. I believe Dozee will help assist doctors and nurses with optimal caregiving, while simultaneously reducing the risks of workforce burnout. Our aim is to enable the delivery of quality care and safeguard the quality of life for both patients and healthcare workers through Dozee’s tech solutions.” Gaurav Parchani, CTO & Co-founder of Dozee, said.

He said that barring Belle Vue Clinic in eastern India, many hospitals across India have introduced contactless device since Covid time.
