Quetta: At least 19 doctors staging a sit-in in Quetta, Balochistan, to demand protection from doctors and other hospital staff have been arrested citing violation of Covid-19 protocols.
“Nineteen people including doctors were arrested from the protest in late-night (Saturday) police raid and cases registered against them,” police officials said.
They further said, “The SOPs of the Covid-19 were also being violated in the protest sit-in.”
According to ARY News, the doctors staged sit-in pressing for protection to doctors and other hospital staff and providing medical facilities in government-run hospitals of Balochistan.
Earlier, the Balochistan High Court had ordered the Young Doctors Association (YDA) protesters to stop their sit-in.
The HC warned the protesters of being sacked from their service if they boycott their duty.
