Guwahati: The media head of the Assam Trinamool Congress, Dilip Kumar Sharma, will join the BJP on Saturday.
Sharma has already resigned from the party. This has caused a political upheaval across the state.
It is to be noted that Dilip Kumar Sharma met the Chief Minister on Saturday morning. After meeting the Chief Minister, Dilip Kumar Sharma has sent his resignation to President Ripun Bora.
In a telephonic conversation with Dilip Kumar Sharma said, “Today I have resigned from the Assam Trinamool Congress.” He said he would join the BJP.
He said he joined the BJP as he was impressed by the development work of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Sarma has already sent his resignation letter to Assam Trinamool Congress president Ripun Bora, he said on social media.
