Assam Rifles troops seize contraband items at Khudengthabi

Imphal: Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles foiled smuggling of contraband items worth Rs 90 lakhs at Khudengthabi, Tengnoupal district on March 15.

Assam Rifles official said a team from Khudengthabi post spotted a person on Kenbo bike carrying a bag through the jungle route near Vehicle Check Post Khudengthabi. On being asked the individual ran away on the bike leaving behind the carry bag. On carrying out thorough check of the Bag 148 packets of suspected WIY tablets worth Rs 90 lakhs were found.

The recovered contraband items were handed over to Moreh Police Station for further investigation.
