Imphal: Since the inception of the national yoga initiative by the Government of India, the Assam Rifles has been consistently conducting wellness sessions across Manipur, a commitment further demonstrated by a recent programme at Chongjang in the Tengnoupal district. Organised as a run-up to the forthcoming International Yoga Day, this latest event aimed to foster physical fitness, mental fortitude, and healthy lifestyle habits among the local youth and residents. During the event, approximately 90 students from Chongjang English School, alongside the troops of Assam Rifles who participated avidly in a series of guided sessions.
The gathering focused on performing various asanas, breathing techniques, and flexibility drills, all designed to improve concentration and emotional balance. Following the physical activities, participants engaged in a session detailing the advantages of integrating yoga into daily routines for stress management and the cultivation of positive, disciplined habits.
This proactive engagement reflects the significant interest among the local youth in holistic personal development. By fostering such constructive activities, the event served to bridge the gap between the security forces and the community, while simultaneously encouraging a culture of well-being.
