Ukhrul: Reaffirming its commitment towards strengthening civil-military relations and fostering peace and harmony in the region, the Shangshak Battalion of Assam Rifles conducted a community interaction at a local church in Shangshak village, Ukhrul District, Manipur on 06 August 2026. The engagement aimed to further strengthen the bond of trust, mutual respect and cooperation between Assam Rifles and the local populace.

The event witnessed active participation from 30 local civilians, who interacted alongside senior Assam Rifles officials, ladies and personnel of the battalion. During the interaction, representatives engaged with church members and residents, conveying their steadfast commitment towards the safety, welfare and overall well-being of the local population. The dialogue emphasised key pillars for the region’s progress and development, particularly the importance of peace, unity, mutual respect and communal harmony.
