Imphal: Assam Rifles organised Yoga Awareness Programmes at Sita, Chongjang and Chavangphai in Tengnoupal District on 14 May 2026 as part of the ongoing 100-day countdown to International Day of Yoga 2026. These programmes are part of a consistent series of initiatives being conducted across Manipur to support the national campaign and spread awareness of yoga’s benefits in remote and border areas.

The events drew nearly 125 participants including troops, youths, school students and civilians, reflecting strong community involvement and enthusiasm. At Sita, children and youths practised yoga asanas and breathing exercises, while at Chavangphai civilians and troops joined together in sessions promoting physical fitness and mental resilience. In Chongjang, a large group of school students participated with energy and curiosity, learning about yoga as a practice that nurtures concentration, discipline and healthy living.

By conducting such programmes regularly across districts, Assam Rifles has been reinforcing the national effort to make yoga accessible to all sections of society. These initiatives not only encourage wellness and balanced lifestyle but also strengthen the bond between the force and local communities. The continuity of these activities underlines Assam Rifles’ role in fostering goodwill, promoting holistic health and supporting the national campaign in the run-up to International Day of Yoga 2026.
