Imphal: Assam Rifles personnel successfully intercepted twelve Indian Trucks on Sunday in the region of Z Choro in Kamjong District that were found to be transporting timber weighing approximately 3324 CFT, valued at approximately Rs 28.25 Lac without the necessary valid documentation.
The confiscated timber along with the drivers of the trucks were handed over to the Forest Beat Officer of Kamjong District for further necessary action.
Further during the period March 20 to 31, significant seizures, encompassing 11641 bags of areca nuts weighing approximately 1127.18 Tons and valued at Rs. 130.29 crores and 41857 CFT of timber worth Rs. 3.89 Crores have been confiscated in the Kamjong district and handed over to the Forest Beat Officer of Kamjong District.
These successful operations not only curtailed illegal activities but also underscored the commitment to upholding legal and ethical standards in the region, according to a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
